Bustling activities are underway as the $1.2 billion dollars state- of-the-art Dallas Cowboys Stadium prepares for its first boxing event when Manny Pacquiao defends his title against Joshua Clottey. To take place this coming Saturday, March 13th, the much anticipated fight is expected to draw a sold out crowd at both the stadium and Pay-Per-View live telecast in the U.S. and his homeland of the Philippines.

As with his previous endeavors, Pacquiao’s long time supporter, Nike, issued several special releases over the weekend from the boxer’s signature line. This includes the Manny Pacquiao x Nike – Trainer SC 2010 Philippines Colorway Edition.

A composition of mesh and synthetic leather for breathability, the Trainer SC 2010 incorporates several initiatives during its design phase in helping an athlete to maximize his/her training regiments while lessen the possibilities of injuries. This includes super lightweight Flywire overlays on upper for exceptional support and DiamondFLX outsole, an omni-directional tread pattern to provide traction.

Comes in the Philippines national colors of f royal blue, scarlet red, and golden yellow, the Manny Pacquiao x Nike – Trainer SC 2010 includes Pacquiao’s nickname, “PAC MAN”, embroidered on the heel panels of left & right shoe. Right below are 7 golden stars, symbolic of his 7 world titles in 7 different weight divisions.

Goodbye Olympics… Goodbye Vancouver…

Memorable events, the art of fair play and sportsmanship, the focused faces amongst the athletes. What makes it more special is that a bunch of these Olympians will be going back to their “normal” lives as insurance sales people or teachers or students. It never ceases to amaze me how special the Olympic games are. Four years of practice, mental and physical preparation, all for a mere sixteen days. But overall, the main message one should always get from the games: DETERMINATION – for yourself, for what you do; go for it; all of it.

DJ FREE’s top Olympic moments:

1 – Witnessing the Double McTwist 1260 via Shaun White

2 – Canadian Hockey. Wish the US won but damn.. what a game

3 – Cool Runnings… not Jamaica but a gold for the US, 62 years in the making!

4 – Nordic combined… crazy… congrats Bill Demong

5 – Ladies figure skater Kim Yu-Na made it look way too easy… is that kind of score even possible?

6 – Seeing Michael J Fox in all those visit British Columbia commercials

7 – Watching Ohno take all those inside cuts, madness; lookin’ forward to seein’ Celski do the same damn thing in Russia!

8 – Curling

9 – Curling

10 – CURLING!!! sweep sweep sweep!!! off off off!!! sweep sweep sweeeeeeeeeep!!!!

from my curling family to yours….

and of course.. to the man Vernon Davis!!!

Got home from church and had dinner with the fam like every Sunday. This Sunday was going off like clockwork until just about 2 hours ago. I had this inclination to write something that was just for my viewing, but later turned into a blog entry for you to see. My sudden inclination came to me as some sort of epiphany! For the past few weeks, I’ve been interviewing for this consultant position in Cupertino, CA. With 3 interviews under my belt, I am feeling quite confident that the job is mine. I’ve done the hiring for Jamba juice during my 3.5yrs working there and understand the process; however, I think I was getting ahead of myself and thinking too much down the line. I was forgetting that you cannot succeed down the line unless proceed to create it! (I’m copyrighting this phrase in the blogasphere world – FIRST!!!) Lately I’ve been pretty stressed out regarding if I got the job or not so to calm my nerves and put me at ease, I turn to my iTunes and my hard drives filled with music. Along with my iTunes I have also been peeping YouTube for some pick me ups.

This is it for my epiphany that my eyes were supposed to see, while below is the evolution of that epiphany.

Music is an art form that utilizes sound as its medium of conveyance. To many people in many cultures music is an important part of their way of life. I see music as a soundtrack, if you will, that is never ending. Music is an integral part of my life, perhaps everyone else’s, that I can conjure up certain memories in my past and relate them to certain songs that came out around that time and now. According to a 20th-century composer John Cage thought that any sound can be music, saying, for example, “There is no noise, only sound.” Kudos to him for acknowledging that simple notion of this art.

I’m not much of a dance besides the infamous waltz, cha-cha, and chi-chop from my few cotillions that I’ve taken part in. Dance is the connection with the masses through the interpretation of the music and what the artists are trying to convey. I have this ear for good music that is not only awe-inspiring and emotional, but a piece of work the transcends the literal meaning of the message and allows us to fully envelope ourselves within the music. Whether music is used to strengthen one’s self or it’s used to symbolize a significant moment in time through words and sound, one thing that remains constant is the gravitation to move to the music. From the Jersey Shore fist pumping to the ‘riding of the beat’ with the head nod, music has the force to will our bodies to go into some sort of motion that is natural, forceful, and complimentary to the music.

I passionately believe that the border between music and noise is always culturally defined—which implies that, even within a single society, this border does not always pass through the same place; in short, there is rarely a consensus. By all accounts there is no single and intercultural universal concept defining what music might be, except that it is ’sound through time.’

Recently (before I gave up FaceBook for Lent) on FaceBook, your boy djROMULUS posted our homie Subi on YT. He was interviewed by Movement Lifestyle and Kanauru Productions. After the quick interview, my boy Subi showed off his talent and did a sick choreo to Letoya’s Not Anymore. After viewing that vid, I was left in awe and watched the dance sequence several times.

So my fellow S4f’ers, I leave you with my boy Subi and another dope choreographer by the name of Pat Cruz (executive director of APT and The Company) doing with they do so effortlessly – fuzing music with motion.

“don’t follow your dreams, just lead them!”

I’m pretty excited to watch this cartoon since I haven’t been glued to the TV as I did when I was a young’n waking up 7AM on Saturdays and watch till noon or something like that. This time is the grown up version of watching cartoons – staying up late to watch TV. As if I don’t do that already….SMH!

This one-hour animated special sees Grammy winning artist T-PAIN leading an all-star cast featuring Andy Samberg, Big Boi, Bill Hader, Bootsy Collins, Cee-Lo, Charlie Murphy, DJ Drama, DJ Pooh, George Clinton, Kelis, Lil Wayne, Lil Jon, Rick Ross, Snoop Dogg, Sophia Fresh and Young Cash. T-Pain also serves as the show’s executive producer.

Freaknik: The Musical airs March 7 on Cartoon Network’s [adult swim] at 11:30 pm EST/PST.

Sole Seek: Air Jordan Retro Hunt

Category Fashion, Lifestyle

This was just e-mailed to me so here’s the cut-n-paste version of the email. Please do not sleep on this! I repeat PLEASE DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS!!

The Hunt is On!

(Your Name Here):

All-white Air Jordan Retros 3, 4 and 9 will be amongst the freshest kicks ever dropped — if you can find them.
Sole Seek is your chance to find out all about the 25th Anniversary white-on-whites and win a prize so hot, we can’t even tell you what it is. Curious? You should be.

Head to the Sole Seek site, register and keep your head up for clues starting March 7 on the Jordan Blog. Also, be sure to follow the contest on the Sole Seek Twitter page.
Then track down every clue and take notes. It’ll be worth it.

So that’s the e-mail. Nothing but verbage informing you that all 3 shoes are releasing on the same damn day! OMFG! Here’s the snag if you aren’t up to par with how this all goes down – each shoe will be regional releases. Meaning your local House of Hoops may have the 3’s then have to hit up Nike Town for the 9’s then jack the 4’s from someone who bought them somewhere else.

This will definitely cause pure pandemonium once these drop! Don’t take my word for it since it’s true….

***UPDATE****
As this entry was being entered I received a twitter update frm Jordan Brand stating that the release date was pushed back from March 20th to the 27th….

Charice feat. IYAZ – Pyramid

As I was doing my nightly blogs rounds I clicked on video from a video site that I avidly hit up. In that site there are model vids, car vids, and primarily music vids; however, this vid that stuck out to me was titled Charice (feat. Iyaz) – Pyramid [Music Video]….

For some odd reason my cursor gravitated to the link and low and behold it was IYAZ with that Philipines super sensation that made her debut on Oprah couple years back Charice Pempengco….

NOW….I listen to all types of music and I’ve heard of Charice’s covers of Whitney Houston and Celine Dion chart toppers so for me I was hoping she would come out with something worth 3minutes and 45seconds of my time. She delivered, in my opinion, with the help of Mr “Solo” & “Replay” himself – IYAZ. I think this is more like her style and that the whole pop zone of music would be a suitable fit for her voice. What do you think?!

OK Go!

Who says the simple things cannot amount to larger complex one?! Well I’m not sure if ppl say that but I totally think it is proper when you watch this very fun-looking and awe inspiring Rube Goldberg.

This has to be the World’s Largest Rube Goldberg I’ve seen for I thoroughly enjoyed it & you will too!
