A system for success catered to successful people, the KOBESYSTEM is by far the most poignant motivational tool out today. More so than How to Win Friends and Influence People and certainly more effective than Oprah Winfrey sponsored program, The Secret. It is also the most humorous mockumentary with a star-studded cast. Directed by Jody [...]

The perks of being a Nike school have been well documented up to this point, from exclusive PE sneakers to the finest in constantly re-designed uniforms. In the realm of college basketball Nike is paying special attention to a subset of their sponsored schools, outfitting the teams who have won national championships rocking Nike gear with the brand new Nike Hyper Elite Platinum Uniforms. The benefits of the updated unis are two-fold, on one hand they’ve been crafted with notched up performance in mind (lightweight fabrics, laser-etched perforations for breathability) and on the other they maintain a minimal impact on the environment (96% recycled materials on the jerseys and 100%) on the shorts. The Nike Hyper Elite Platinum Uniform will first hit NCAA courts in the UConn/Notre Dame match up on Sunday the 29th, so keep your eyes peeled for the new gear in that game as well as others going forward. Also, hit the jump for the full photos of the uniforms for each school as well as a couple demo videos of the Nike Hyper Elite Platinum garments in motion.
Directed by Jody Hill, the co-creator and executive producer of HBO comedy series “Eastbound & Down”, “The KobeSystem: Success for the Successful” is to highlight the new Nike Kobe VII System Supreme. Its also a nod to Kobe Bryant‘s amazing achievements as five-time World Champion, thirteen-time NBA All-Star appearances, Olympic Gold Medalist, and more… To truly facilitate an ambiance of success, Wieden + Kennedy, the agency in charge, invited a remarkably diversified group of over-achievers to participate in the mock campaign. On the list of esteemed guests who took part include one of the world richest man, Sir Richard Branson, an actual motivational speaker, Tony Robbins, to All-Pro football player Larry Fitzgerald. Introductions are not needed, Kanye West, along with comedian Aziz Ansari and Paul Rodriguez took to the sound stage. Both Serena Williams and soccer player Hope Solo appeared. Then there was the most famous celebrity yet virtually unknown among the troupe, Chinese megastar LeeHom Wang.
Level 1
“Attack Fast. Attack Strong.”, slogans to live by for the new inductees of #KOBESYSTEM, success for the successful devised by the one and only Kobe Bryant. But for comedic actor Aziz Ansari, being fast came naturally while strength was often neglected. Thanks to Bryant’s one-on-one tutelage, that might be a thing of the past, or maybe not. See the first installment of KOBESYSTEM, Lesson 1 Success with Aziz Ansari.
Level 2
Following the humorous exchange between himself and comedian Aziz Ansari yesterday, Kobe Bryant continues day 2 of his KOBESYSTEM: Success for the Successful seminar with Lesson 2 – Adaptation. And as if the concept of Bryant as a “motivational speaker” wasn’t perplexing enough, Lesson 2 furthers the befuddling double talk between Bryant and tennis pro Serena Williams. Though no one is sure the comparison of dinosaur and meteor was the best analogy for the lesson, it certainly made for great comedy. See the second installment of #KOBESYSTEM, Lesson 2 Adaptation with Serena Williams.
Level 3
Kobe Bryant is carrying on his role as a self-help guru, imparting his infinite wisdom this time on Chinese megastar Wang Leehom. The video focuses on Kobe bringing Wang up to speed on the nature of a system, a multifaceted machine that can approach a problem from different angles. Of course with the #KOBESYSTEM those two angles are fast and strong, but we’ll have to see what kind of system Leehom is crafted into as the video series pans out.
Level 4
Among the attendees for Kobe Bryant‘s pseudo-seminars, perhaps the guy who needs it the least is Tony Robbins. A super successful self-help guru in his own right, Robbins has long been motivating crowds with the same sort of talk that Black Mamba is pushing to help his celebrity friends grasp the KOBESYSTEM concept. In fact, in this latest spot Robbins tries to wrestle the time away from Bryant a little bit, after which is promptly reprimanded for “wasting two million dollars of Kanye West‘s time”. Hit the jump for the vid and stick with us to make sure you complete all seven steps of the Nike #KOBESYSTEM.
Level 5
Elected to the Pro-Bowl 13 times, 12 times to the All-Pro roster, and winner of 3 Super Bowl titles including as the MVP in Super Bowl XXIII, retired wide receiver Jerry Rice would know a thing or two about domination. But not according to Kobe Bryant and his new self-motivation regiment, #KOBESYSTEM. In this latest installment, Bryant confronted Rice about the ways he could dominate all aspects of life, from breakfast, art, galaxy, ninja, even retirement. Wise teaching from an equally wise man. See Lesson 5 Domination from Kobe Bryant’s KOBESYSTEM.
How is it that it’s 2012 and The Hundreds has never gotten together with Casio on a G-Shock release? OK that isn’t entirely true, the California based brand did team up with them and XLARGE back in 2008, but this is the first time they’re doing it without a third entity involved. The impending model of choice is the GW-5610, which aims for a very clean black and white base along with some logo hits around the wristband. Opting out of the yellow and orange parts from their Adam Bomb logo, the smart look is something more reminiscent of elegant aura that their retail spots have been built around. Follow us after the jump for an extra shot and stick with ya boy & S4F for word on a release date for The Hundreds x Casio G-Shock GW-5610.

At the root of Louis Vuitton’s Fall/Winter 2012 collection, designer Kim Jones looked to create a link between the international cultural capitals of Paris and London. The connection is not as far-fetched as one would imagine, dating back to the days of Louis Vuitton’s son, Georges Vuitton who held an affinity for Tokyo. Further reinforcing a statement of connection, Kim Jones sourced fashion illustrator Antonio Lopez who was among the first to actively take to Tokyo for inspiration trips. The result was the use of exquisite fabrics of laboriousness nature included woven silk made to the tune of only 20 cm per day as well as a selection of exotic leathers. Detailing was a strong suit for the whole line which offered a real world connection with its intangible concepts.
Two K-words we’re almost always pleased to hear: Korg and Kaoss. Good, then, that the former has decided to make more of the latter — the mini Kaoss Pad 2 (effects unit), and Kaossilator 2 (synthesizer), to be precise. Both new editions will slip in your pocket, and are dominated by that all-important X-Y pad. The mini Kaoss Pad 2 is all about effects, packing 100 programs, three memory slots, and MP3 playback (with pitch adjust). The traditional flanger, filter, delay, and reverb ear candy are also joined by looper, vinyl break, and ducking compressor.
But what good are effects without anything to, er, affect? Enter Kaossilator 2. It’s a palm-sized synthesizer, with 150 onboard sounds and a PCM engine for drums. You can sample via a built-in mic, gate and arpeggiate sounds, and create layered textures with loops. Both can record your performance, save it to SD, or impose share with others via a built-in speaker. It’s all peace and quiet, though, until April when the Kaossilator lands for about £168 ($260). The KPad, on the other hand won’t hit the market until May, retailing at the same price.

Chris Brown cranks the volume on “Turn Up the Music,” the second single from his fifth album Fortune, due this spring. The party anthem, produced by The Underdogs, boasts a throbbing electro-house beat and an undeniable hook.
“If you sexy and you know it, put your hands up in the air,” chants Breezy over the synth-heavy production, which is bound to become the soundtrack for clubgoers everywhere.
Does Chris have another hit on his hands?
Dim the lights. John Legend takes it to the bedroom on his smooth new single “Tonight (Best You Ever Had).” “I hit you with the best stroke, freestyle and the breast stroke/ Till you blowing cigarette smoke/ And now the bed’s broke,” sings Mr. Legend on the explicit Phatboi production, which features a verse from Ludacris. The song will appear on his upcoming fourth solo album and the soundtrack to the romantic comedy Think Like a Man.
