For VERBAL and YOON, the duo have become a musical and fashion mainstay within Tokyo’s vibrant landscape. For both of them, they each maintained different jobs in the creative realm before coming together to launch AMBUSH DESIGN. Initially formed as a means for YOON to work and live in Japan, AMBUSH DESIGN has been characterized by its unique designs and pieces. We focused on the couple in their Tokyo studio to gain a better understanding of their brand AMBUSH DESIGN, their Western influences and how Tokyo plays a roll in their inspirations.

KAWS is currently in Mexico City, Mexico for the launch of his collaboration with Mexican beer, Cerveza Dos Equis. The New York artist gives a detailed look into all of the promotional tools including a billboard, bottles, and cases that have been created to celebrate the launch of the collaboration between himself and Dos Equis. The collaboration is a seamless one as KAWS is known for drawing “XX” and Dos Equis original branding uses the same letters. via: KAWS

The street fashion game has been flooded with people that have little respect and knowledge of the market, and are just trying to make a quick buck, exploiting yet another culture. So it was great to meet up with Curvel and Courtney – who not only have an admirable respect for streetwear, but are also passionate about doing business the right way. We had the great opportunity of chopping it up with them, as we discussed the state of streetwear, how their latest and recently launched SampleSaleShop.com came to life, and their vision for the project.

SampleSaleShop.com offers 72-hour online pop-up shops where you can grab items from your favorite brands for 50-80% less than retail. The site just launched on Monday and their first pop-up features Married to the Mob and Don Clothing NY. All you have to do is run over to SampleSaleShop.com, become a member (it literally will take you 30 seconds), and start shopping.

After working together for over 10 years in the fashion, film, music, and publishing industries – collaborating with the likes of Pete Rock, BET, and more – Curvel and Courtney came up with Sample Sale Shop to help both the consumers and brands in the Streetwear subculture.

For the customers members of Sample Sale Shop, not only will they get the dope savings, but also give them a chance at these pop-ups right on their computer. E-commerce has been taking over the retail game in recent years and this site will give people across the world a chance to participate in these pop-ups rather than just the people in select cities.

As for for the brands, they want to see it used as not only a great place to unload some sought after inventory, but also as a launching pad for the lesser known brands in the industry. So if they are really doing their thing, this will be a place for them to “get their shine on”.

Curve and Court were both very passionate about the brands that they had in store for the site, and were genuine fans of the lines. HECTIC have to where they are right now by introducing and experimenting with various recipes blending cultures together. Sometimes they make a hit and rarely they make duds, however this is a winning combination no matter how you look at it. Who of thought that HECTIC would make a suit with New Era. It goes to show that there is a brilliant idea at every corner.

To make things interesting the suit is made with the same base fabric that is used for making New York Yankees caps. If you look closely the buttons used on the suit is the same as the ones on the fitteds and flip up the lapel and you will find the same green color that is used on fitteds. Of course it won’t be a New Era collaboration project without the HECTIC x New Era size sticker on the chest and NE logo stitched on the left sleeve. A special tailor in Osaka was outsourced to make the Ring Jacket, paying attention to detail and silhouette. Also they have made the suits to fit street styles, meaning a size 46 jacket is paired up with size 50 pants to give some room for your legs.

California’s Crooks & Castles is moving off shore over to Hawaii, and to accompany its grand opening this Friday, it had created a collection of Crooks & Castles Hawaii exclusive products. The collection comes in the form of graphic t-shirts honoring both Hawaii and of course, C&C. There are eight styles total, and each feature classic C&C logos and also a text graphic tee which is slightly reminiscent of Christopher Wool’s work.

MEDICOM TOY has partnered up with UK’s musical outfit, Unkle, consisting of James Lavelle and Tim Goldsworthy, and had once included the legendary DJ Shadow. The collaboration comes in the form of the classic MEDICOM TOY Be@rbrick in 400% and 100%. The vinyl toy has been rendered to be transparent with prints of scribbles, sketches and drawings.

This is the future of Porsche. Directionally, and technologically speaking. As reported back in July, Porsche has decided to push for the production of its latest hybrid super car, the Porsche 918 Spyder. With 500HP delivered by a V8 engine, the only thing left to wonder is what the Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid looks like in performance. Last Thursday, prior to the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the folks from Porsche took the new car out for a test drive on a closed road circuit in Monterey, California.
