This is the first installment of “m!c Check” where I will be posting my Top whatever, rants and raves. I’m also grinding hard on an interactive portion of my posts to get you, the readers, involved with the content on this site.
On today’s m!c Check I will be showcasing my Top 3 sites that I prefer to buy the latest styles in shoes and clothing. I’ve done the whole EBay thing and was satisfied. That’s it, just satisfied. I’ve done most of my shopping, mainly shoes, through contacts with friends and theRACK (for those who don’t know its Nordstrom Rack). In this superb economy (SMH!) I’ve been on the look out for online boutiques and other specialty stores that caters to the currents trends, leading brands, and ultimately things that can’t be found or difficult to find at the physical brick and mortar stores.
During the past several years I’ve avidly used 2 of my top 3 sites. This past month I’ve discovered a hidden gem that I think, those who are into the mainstream brands along with upcoming brands, would appreciate awesome quality, abundant selection, best deals, and all that is based on private invites and exclusivity.
Here’s my Top 3 with brief descriptions of the site:
1.) Jack Threads
Jack Threads is the shiznit! I totally love the feeling of exclusivity and the notion of quite possibly being the only person shopping for certain items before they actually release. JT collaborates strictly with the brands to conjure up killer deals and have the consumers deal strictly with the distributors. You’re probably wondering, “why do u say exclusivity when I can have that feeling everywhere I shop online?” Here’s my answer, can you’re site have private sales that range from a week to 1 or 2 day sales with on humungous killer draw – for me that is. The killer draw to this site is the follow: *PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND SLOWLY* All items are sold at wholesale and are discount in the 50%-60% off area!!!! The downside to saving so much is the wait. I just ordered 2 new pairs of Creative Reactions: a pair of Black Snake Cesarios and the iLL Montana Boots (the patent leather and the rugged outsole texturing makes it worth the amount that was paid) unfortunately these do not release till end of the month. Once the items become available at the warehouse, the order is shipped and BIEM new joints that will definitely sell out once they hit the shelves. *NOTE* not all items are on an availability basis since many items ship out with 1-2 business day.
2.) Karmaloop
What can I say about Karmaloop, but straight crack to the wallet then on my body. KL gets the latest collections on time or sometimes earlier then usual places for that added thrill of “OMFG I gotta have that!” They offer 2 different shopping experiences, which clearly separates the tame from the savage. First off there is the regular site which offers popular brands (Crooks & Castle, LRG, Obey, Burton, Vans, WeSC, RVCA) while their underground version called Kazbah Store offers up some not so familiar yet dope clothing (Abtraxx, Loud&Obnoxious, Heist & Co., Dope couture, Chunk and APE!, Delicious Vinyl, District 81). Prices are exceptional, but still about the same as retail! Shipping is phenomenal along with special free shipping and promotions that deal with their entire. The dopest promo to date was their collabo with Kanye West’s mother’s foundation offering 50% on your entire order. FTW!
3.) Digital Gravel
Digital Gravel popped my “online shopping” cherry with my In4mation Bomber jacket. The site is great for what it’s made to do – sell clothes. That’s it! The brands are a 80/20 mixture of unknown and known brands that make you question if these brands are legit, and if they are, whether it’s worth paying $20+ on a T-shirt. The illest thing about DG was that they had was having people register and pay, I think $45, and basically every month for 12 months they would send you a custom shirt made by random brands made specifically for the members. I thought it was ingenious; however, dumb at the the same time because not all brands have the same sizing. Not husky friendly if you ask me…LoL! All in all an awesome beginner shopping site. Their new look is way to confusing and too much finger-dragging on my Mac to scroll down the list. They also used a ‘DIGS’ feature which showcases certain brands and their newest items. Snazzy
