Lifestyle headphone company AIAIAI will be introducing this week their new TMA-1 headphones, their first performance product in the range. The headphones have been tested by notable DJs around the globe over the last couple of months, with the feedback going right back into the development of the product. The TMA-1 was designed by Danish design firm KiBiSi and further developed in cooperation with Tartelet Records, Mannhandle and Thank You For Clapping. The outcome is a high performance set of headphones, which still appeals to the lifestyle customer in terms of design. The official global launch takes place tonight at Firmament Berlin.

a dig from Shrek of s4f…taken from Engadget.com
“We just recently got a glimpse of one possible future of DJing, but our world has now already been turned upside down once again with this multitouch-enabled rig built by Gregory Kaufman. The big difference with this one, as you can probably guess, is that it employs a gesture-based interface that lets you spin the virtual turntables and use a variety of taps and finger swipes to replicate the main functions of a regular DJ deck. What’s more, Kaufman says that the only gear a DJ would have to carry is a USB drive with their own music and settings, which they’d simply plug into the multitouch table at a club — assuming the idea catches on, that is. Top top things off, the system would also be able to accommodate regular DJ gear for some added flexibility, and even provide enough room for two DJs if you’re looking to battle or share the stage. Head on past the break to check it out in action.”
We already know there are many functions for your iPad, and most of them are thanks to the genius application developers out there. Psychic Factory though has taken the iPad applications one step up and created an iPad DJ Station. This concept creation is complete with mixers, equalizers, turntables and functions a DJ would possibly need, this might be just the new portable and extremely versatile party picker-upper. While not much information has been released yet, we do look forward to these being going into actual production.via: Fubiz

I came across this new DJ recently so thought I’d share his tracks here.
FVKIT (Fu-kit, fuk-it) is an electronic artist and DJ from Helsinki Finland.
The electric guitar is a big part of the DJ set’s and vjing with up and coming animators as well.
Songs such as ” Personal Jesus ” are being re-built live, instrument by instrument, while the original riff is replayed with a more Hendrix sounding tune.
You can download 2 of his mix tracks here:
**HANDS DOWN, RUDE BOY remix is by far THE best remix of this song that I’ve heard
The use of the strings and the subtle change in the beat along with the dope vocal cuts makes this a track worth bumping to get things going. I also ABSOLUTELY love the ‘rock-esque’ feel of this song now!

On Tuesday, the company made official DJ Hero 2. Due out this fall for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii, the musical mashup will bring a slew of new features to the (turn)table, including microphone support, new multiplayer modes and a burly, eclectic track list.
Personally, I’m still waiting for Scratch the Ultimate DJ to come out. But will definitely be in tune to see what DJH2 has in store!
Here is a quick background check on Nujabes. Jun Seba aka Nujabes, which was simply his entire name spelled backwards, was a Japanese hip-hop producer and DJ who recorded under the name Nujabes. The alias is his name spelled backwards. Alongside making music, Nujabes was also owner of the Shibuya record stores, T Records and Guinness Records and founder of the independent label Hydeout Productions.
The super talented and internationally famous arranger, producer, and DJ Nujabes passed away. Nujabes was killed in a car accident in Tokyo when he crashed leaving the Metropolitan Expressway in Tokyo’s Minato Ward.
Nujabes was 36 years old when he died. The car crash that killed Nujabes took place on February 26, 2010, the same day a magnitude 7.3 earthquake struck off the coast of Japan. Nujabes’ death was only publicly confirmed by Hydeout Productions and by his friend and collaborator, Shing02, today; he was buried by his family in a private ceremony. Nujabes was a private person, and so many, even those who worked closely with him, did not know he had died. The common Internet death rumors did not make it to the English-speaking web, and this is a rare case in which an artist’s actual death notice preceded the rumors.
Nujabes started to get his buzz by many in late 1999 early 2000 when he dropped “People Don’t Stray” with Funky DL. People say his greatest efforts was the Metaphorical Music album released in 2003. It made music aficionados really value him as a producer, his style was smooth, laid back and very soulful. The follow up album Modal Soul released in 2005 was very good as well as was his Samurai Champoo contributions, especially Departure which featured the beautiful “Mystline”, consisting of a very moving piano sample and a dope sample also used by DJ Premier’s “In Memory of…” (Youtube search for the track)
True story:
I found out about Nujabes roughly 4-5 years ago. I was on the original S4F website and the homepage had this “elevator” style music playing in the background. It was either Aruarian Dance by Nujabes or Souls of Mischief joint 93 til Infinity. After that I got hooked on Nujabes works! From Aruarian Dance and Feather (must listen) to eclipse and reflection eternal, Nujabes was killing these awe-inspiring beats.
My regular rounds brought me this which makes me swell up with such much Filipino pride.
Here’s a quick vid of DJ Neil Armstrong prior to the actual meat and potatoes of this post
Now here’s his project in a nutshell….
“This project is my personal way of putting a distinctive bookmark in this chapter in my life, and a way to pass a sincere thank you to Jay-Z, Mr. Sean Carter, for all of the memories, the opportunity to rock on stage as an artist with him around the world, and for the kindness to me as a person. You know I had to do it in my language; a thank you in music.
A sincere thank you and respect to Jay-Z and the Roc Boys.
Take a listen, spread the word, and enjoy the music!
Peace, DJ Neil Armstrong aka the All Out King”
